I met recently with Loma Linda City Councilman Bob Ziprick and City Manager T.Jarb Thaipejr both of whom expressed a strong desire to have Amtrak trains serve their city. Both of these gentlemen asked that Southwest Rail Passenger Association represent Loma Linda in rail passenger matters.
The question is why a passenger train stop in Loma Linda?
- Loma Linda is home to a world renowned hospital which also serves as a major trauma center.
- Loma Linda has a world class medical university serving thousands of students.
- The Veterans Administration hospital is located in this city serving veterans through out the Inland Empire.
In a meeting with Joe Yannuzzi (Amtrak General Superintendent, Southwest Division) Joe agreed to include Loma Linda into a future possible stop.
Platform issues will be looked at by Amtrak staff.
