Dear Mr. Boardman:

I greatly appreciate the time you took with me and my two colleagues yesterday (Thursday October 8) discussing the many challenges Amtrak faces. This is especially true with an aging fleet and a grossly under-funded system which goes back twenty some years. I also wish to thank you for your consideration of the corridor service that we envision from Los Angeles to the Coachella Valley, and I will send you the plan when we move this project to completion.

It is our intention to assist and work with you in improving and growing such a vitally needed form of transportation. We know that this may be a daunting task; however, we believe this can be achieved.

Kindest Regards,

Bob
